Welcome to the website of FreeQuest. As you can see, we don't have any fancy website anymore.
We are a small IRC network run by a couple of friends. If you need to get in touch with any of our staff, feel free to connect and look us up with /stats p on various servers.
You have the following options to connect to us:
If you are interrested in linking your server to us, please visit this website.
These are the rules we expect you to follow when on FreeQuest.
Failure to do so may result in a network wide ban and, in certain cases, abuse reports to your ISP.
And, remember. We are NOT responsible for what people say or do on FreeQuest. Like the postal service, we just deliver the message. ;-)
All of the software we use on FreeQuest is open sourced.
We used to run a SVN server, but that has been decomissioned. You can find a tarball of it above.
FreeQuest is an IRC Network founded in January 2003. It was formed because everyone was frustrated about not being able to get onto DALnet and all the trouble with DALnet. We began with the name HBGnet, but after just a few days we realized that name wasn't international enough. After a big discussion we found the name FreeQuest to be available and nice. With "Free" we mean that the network is free to use and you have a lot of freedom on it, and we think that making this network work smoothly and expanding it is our "Quest". Our first servers were fry and nibbler, but none of them remains nowadays. This network had three founders; daviden, jims and ph0x. However, of those three only ph0x remains active in running the network nowadays, but he shares the responsibility with all the other server administrator. If you would like to know more about us, please ask one of our server administrators.
